Diamonds, densifier and patience
Polishing is a sequence. Coarse metal-bond diamonds flatten and open the slab. A lithium or sodium silicate densifier soaks in and reacts with the cement, making the surface harder. Then resin-bond diamonds, step by step, bring up the reflection. The finish level is your choice.
A natural fit for warehouses
In a warehouse, polished concrete reduces dust, reflects overhead light and holds up to forklift traffic. It is also simple to scrub.
In offices and homes
Polished concrete gives offices and open-plan homes an industrial-modern look. Expect to see the slab's history, including cracks and patches; a coating hides more.
Will moving cracks affect it?
They stay visible but do not cause a coating to peel, because there is none.
What upkeep is needed?
Regular dust mopping and occasional burnishing.
Retail near Union Landing
Retail spaces see heavy foot traffic. Polished concrete stands up to it and only needs regular scrubbing to stay bright.
Food plant break rooms and offices
In buildings where the production floor gets a coating, the offices and break areas are often polished instead. It looks finished, holds up to foot traffic and costs less to maintain over the years.
